There are some weddings that start with the coolest stories, and Katia & Jacob’s winter wedding at Snowline Acres is definitely one of them. I actually met Katia completely by chance one summer morning at Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park while I was photographing a sunrise proposal. I asked Katia and Jacob if I could pretend to photograph them while my client got into position to propose (classic photographer move lol). We chatted for a bit, I took a few photos of them, and afterward I sent them the images as a thank you. Fast forward a bit… Katia reached out about me photographing their wedding, and honestly it felt like the most full-circle moment ever.
Their wedding day ended up being exactly what you’d hope for in a Montana winter celebration, elegant, relaxed, and filled with so many sweet moments between family and friends. And while Montana winters usually mean snow everywhere, this day surprised us with clear skies, sunshine, and one seriously beautiful sunset!

Details From This Winter Wedding at Snowline Acres
Katia had such an elegant vision for the day, and you could see it immediately in the details. Everything leaned into that timeless black tie vibe while still feeling cozy and natural inside the warm wood tones of Snowline Acres. Her dress was sleek and classic, the bridesmaids wore stunning black gowns, and the florals were soft whites and greenery that popped beautifully against the darker winter palette.
The venue itself added so much to the aesthetic. Snowline Acres has this gorgeous timber-frame interior with tall windows and string lights woven throughout the beams, which makes the whole space feel warm and romantic, especially for a winter wedding at Snowline Acres. Even without snow outside, the venue still gave that cozy Montana winter atmosphere. Little touches like their vow books, the simple and elegant paper goods, and the black-and-white elements throughout the day tied everything together so perfectly!

Getting Ready With the Girls
The morning was super relaxed and honestly just really fun. Katia and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready together in matching robes, laughing, chatting, and soaking in the excitement of the day. There was a lot of joking around, dancing, and those little moments where everyone suddenly realizes “oh my gosh, it’s actually happening today.” One of my favorite parts of the morning was how playful everyone was together. The girls piled onto the couch, jumped around, and just enjoyed being together before the day picked up speed. It felt less like a rushed wedding morning and more like a group of best friends hanging out before the biggest celebration of Katia’s life. Those kinds of mornings always set the tone for the rest of the day, and this one felt calm, happy, and full of anticipation!

A Romantic Ceremony for Their Winter Wedding at Snowline Acres
The ceremony space at Snowline Acres is honestly stunning. With the high ceilings, exposed beams, and those massive windows letting in soft winter light, it creates such a beautiful atmosphere for a ceremony. Their ceremony arch was this large circular floral installation that framed them perfectly as they said their vows. It looked incredible with the light coming through the windows behind them and all their friends and family gathered around. The whole ceremony felt really sweet and intentional. Nothing over the top, just two people who were clearly so excited to finally be getting married. You could feel how supportive their families were, and there were so many smiles and little emotional moments happening throughout.

Portraits Around Snowline Acres
Even without snow on the ground, the weather ended up being absolutely perfect. The sun came out, the air was crisp, and the light was honestly incredible for portraits. Katia and Jacob looked amazing together, the classic black suit with Katia’s timeless gown and that soft white wrap she wore for warmth made everything feel very elegant and wintery. Snowline Acres has so many beautiful textures with the wood siding and open landscape around the venue, which gave us a ton of great spots for portraits. The bridal party photos were such a vibe too! Everyone in black dresses with white florals against the neutral venue made everything feel cohesive and stylish without feeling overly staged. It was just one of those moments where everyone was laughing, fixing each other’s hair, hyping up the bride, and having fun with it.

Dancing, Celebrating, and a Packed Dance Floor
Once the reception started, the energy shifted from elegant dinner vibes to full-on celebration pretty quickly. Their first dance was so sweet under the glow of the string lights and that giant floral arch behind them. The black-and-white dance floor looked amazing in the space and made everything feel even more classic and dramatic. And then the dance floor opened… and it was lit. People were out there dancing all night, jumping around, singing along, and just having the best time celebrating Katia and Jacob. It was one of those receptions where you look around and everyone is smiling, moving, and fully in the moment. Exactly how a wedding should feel!
