A few days before their wedding, Karlee and Adam traded wedding to-do lists for an adventure session at Logan Pass, and honestly, I don’t know if there could have been a better way to spend the day. Instead of squeezing portraits into a packed wedding timeline, we headed into Glacier National Park, hopped on e-bikes, and spent the evening exploring some of the most incredible spots along Going-to-the-Sun Road. What made this session even more special was that the road wasn’t open to vehicle traffic yet. We had access to views that are typically packed with visitors in the summer, but on this evening it felt like we had the entire park to ourselves. Between the mountain views, waterfalls, tunnels, and quiet roads, it felt less like a photo session and more like an adventure with two people who happened to be getting married in a couple of days!
Why an Adventure Session at Logan Pass Is Worth Adding to Your Wedding Experience
One of my favorite things about offering adventure sessions is that they give couples a chance to slow down and actually experience the place they’ve chosen for their wedding. On a wedding day, there’s naturally a schedule to follow. During an adventure session, there’s nowhere to be, no guests waiting, and no timeline to keep up with. For Karlee and Adam, that meant spending the evening biking through Glacier, stopping whenever something caught our eye, and soaking in the views without feeling rushed. They got to enjoy the park together while also creating some incredible memories before the wedding day even arrived. And yes, if you’re wondering about the bikes, I have e-bikes available for my couples to use. It’s one of my favorite ways to explore Glacier because it allows us to cover more ground while still taking our time at each location!
The Best Time for an Adventure Session at Logan Pass
One of the biggest reasons this session felt so magical was the timing. Because the road was still closed to regular vehicle traffic, we had stretches of Going-to-the-Sun Road almost entirely to ourselves. If you’ve ever visited Glacier in peak summer, you know how rare that is. For couples interested in an adventure session at Logan Pass, my favorite times are usually May and June before the road fully opens, or late fall around mid-to-late October when traffic starts to disappear again. You’ll still get those incredible mountain views, but with a much quieter experience overall. The snow-covered peaks, green valleys, and dramatic skies during this time of year create a completely different feel than what most people expect from Glacier, and personally, it’s one of my favorite looks in the park.
From Logan Pass to Waterfalls, Tunnels, and Hidden River Views
One of the best parts about this session was how much variety we were able to fit into a single evening. We started up near Logan Pass with those iconic Glacier views stretching out in every direction. From there, we stopped at the famous tunnel, explored The Loop area, and found a beautiful river spot on the drive back down. The waterfall near the tunnel was easily one of my favorite locations of the day.
The combination of the rock walls, rushing water, and mountain views created such a unique backdrop that felt completely different from the open overlooks we had visited earlier. By the end of the evening, Karlee and Adam had an entire gallery that told the story of their time in Glacier, not just one location, but an experience. And that’s really what I love most about sessions like these. They’re not just about taking photos. They’re about getting out, exploring somewhere incredible together, and creating memories you’ll remember long after the wedding day is over.
