Some engagement sessions are about getting dressed up and finding a pretty backdrop. Others turn into an entire adventure you’ll be talking about for years. Jack and Jordan’s engagement photos at Apikuni Falls were definitely the second kind. They flew in from California to explore Montana and celebrate this exciting season of life. Planning to officially get engaged while they were here. Even though they couldn’t wait and ended up getting engaged a few days before our session (honestly, I don’t blame them!), we still spent the evening exploring some of the most beautiful places in Many Glacier together. From hiking to Apikuni Falls to soaking in the views above Many Glacier Hotel and ending the night along the shoreline of Swiftcurrent Lake. It was one of those sessions that reminded me exactly why I love photographing adventurous couples.
Why Engagement Photos at Apikuni Falls Are Worth the Hike
If you’ve never been to Apikuni Falls, add it to your Glacier bucket list. The hike is relatively short, but it packs in incredible scenery the entire way. You wind through forest, climb into rocky terrain, and are rewarded with a powerful waterfall pouring down the mountainside. Standing at the base of those cliffs.Iit’s hard not to stop every few minutes just to take it all in. The best part, though, wasn’t just the destination.
It was everything in between. We spent the hike chatting about how Jack and Jordan met, their lives back in California, and everything they’re looking forward to as they start this next chapter together. One of my favorite parts of these sessions is getting to know my couples beyond the camera. By the time we reach the final location, it doesn’t feel like I’m photographing strangers anymore, it feels like I’m spending the evening with friends!
Exploring More of Many Glacier After Our Engagement Photos at Apikuni Falls
After leaving the waterfall, we weren’t quite ready for the adventure to end. We made our way to the cliffs behind Many Glacier Hotel, where the mountain views seem to stretch forever. Even with dramatic peaks surrounding us, Jack and Jordan made every photo feel effortless. They spent most of the session laughing, walking hand in hand, and soaking in every second of being there together. We wrapped up the evening along the shoreline of Swiftcurrent Lake. Where the water reflected the surrounding mountains as the light softened. It was one of those calm Glacier evenings that reminds you why so many people fall in love with this place. Instead of rushing off afterward, Jack and Jordan stayed to wander around Many Glacier a little longer, which honestly felt like the perfect ending to their day.
