Melissa and Landen’s Logan Pass engagement photos were basically the perfect mix of everything I love about photographing couples in Glacier, mountain views, a little adventure, plenty of laughing, and the freedom to just explore together. We made our way around some of my favorite spots, including Big Bend, The Loop, and the tunnel, and these two were seriously up for anything. And because life had a pretty exciting surprise for them, this wasn’t just an engagement session. They had recently found out they were expecting a baby, so we got to sneak in the sweetest little baby announcement too!
Logan Pass Engagement Photos with a Little Adventure
One of my favorite things about an engagement session in Glacier is that we don’t have to stay in one spot and do the same thing for an hour. We can make an adventure out of it! With Melissa and Landen, we wandered around Big Bend with those huge mountain views behind them, stopped at The Loop, played around near the tunnel, and found a waterfall along the way. Every stop gave us something completely different without losing that wild Glacier feel.
And these two made it so easy. They were fun, bubbly, and completely down to go wherever the evening took us. I could have them dancing in the middle of the road one minute and wandering through the wildflowers the next, and they just went with it. That kind of energy is exactly what makes sessions like this feel less like posing for photos and more like going out and having a really freaking fun evening together.
More Than Just Engagement Photos Before the Wedding
I’ll be photographing Melissa and Landen’s wedding next year, which made getting this time with them beforehand even more special. Engagement sessions give me a chance to actually get to know my couples before the wedding day, how they interact, what makes them laugh, what feels natural for them, and all those little things that help me photograph their relationship in a way that actually feels like them. Plus, by the time the wedding comes around, we already know each other and being in front of my camera doesn’t feel nearly as unfamiliar.
And now there’s another little person joining their story!! We mixed their engagement photos with their baby announcement, including photos with their ultrasound pictures against the mountains, and I love that they’ll have these to look back on from such a huge season in their lives. Their Logan Pass engagement photos ended up documenting way more than their upcoming wedding, they captured this wild, exciting in-between moment when they were celebrating an engagement, planning a wedding, and getting ready to become parents.
