Morgan and Asher came to Montana already married and ready to have an experience that felt completely different from anything they could get at home. Their elopement in Glacier National Park was really about slowing down, reading their vows to each other, exploring some incredible places, and getting photos that actually felt like them! We spent time around St. Mary and Logan Pass, and somehow they hit the timing just right for the purple wildflowers too. Between the flowers, Morgan’s veil, the mountain views, and the two of them just soaking everything in, this was such a good day.

Exploring St. Mary for Their Elopement in Glacier National Park
One of my favorite things about photographing in Glacier is giving my couples a gallery that shows the entire experience. I love the huge landscape shots where you can really see the scale of the mountains, but I’m just as obsessed with coming in close for the little details. Morgan’s veil blowing around, their hands, the flowers, the way they looked at each other, all of those things matter just as much as the big views.
And Morgan and Asher made this so easy. They were down to explore and trusted me to take them to places that would give them a ton of variety without making the day feel like one long photoshoot. Their wedding attire also looked so good against the rugged landscape. You can absolutely want an adventurous elopement and still bring the dress, the flowers, the veil, and all of those beautiful details that make the experience feel elevated and intentional.

August Wildflowers at Logan Pass
We seriously could not have planned the wildflowers better. Morgan and Asher were at Logan Pass on August, and the purple flowers were absolutely everywhere. There is something so good about seeing a full wedding dress and veil in the middle of a wildflower meadow with those massive mountains in the background. It gave us a completely different look from the rocky shoreline and overlooks we photographed earlier in the day.
If wildflowers are something you really want for your own elopement in Glacier National Park, August can be an incredible time to visit. Of course, bloom times can shift depending on snowpack and weather, so nothing in the mountains is ever guaranteed. That’s where being flexible comes in. Glacier can throw weather, road closures, and unexpected changes at us, and trusting your photographer to adjust the plan can make such a difference. Sometimes the change we weren’t expecting ends up giving us some of my favorite photos of the entire day!

How to Make Your Glacier Elopement an Experience
There are a few practical things I always recommend when you’re spending hours exploring Glacier. Bring plenty of food and water, pack for more weather than you think you’ll encounter, and don’t be afraid to bring along the details you really want photographed. Adventure doesn’t have to mean stripping everything down to the basics. Bring the bouquet. Wear the veil. Choose an outfit you feel amazing in. We can figure out the logistics around it.
But more than anything, give yourself time to actually experience where you are. These days go by so quickly. I want you to have moments where you aren’t thinking about the camera at all, you’re reading your vows, walking through the flowers, laughing together, or just standing there taking in the fact that you’re in Glacier freaking National Park together. Those moments are also what allow me to create a gallery that feels like you, with everything from big landscape images to close-up details and all of those natural moments in between.
