Ummmm excuse me while I sob into my cowboy hat real quick, Macy & Tanner’s western Montana wedding wasn’t just beautiful, it was soul-deep special! Held at the rustic (and GORGEOUS) Paddle Ridge venue with portraits by the wild waters of Glacier National Park’s Lake McDonald, this day was drenched in intention, love, and the kind of storytelling that sticks with you forever. Every detail was steeped in meaning, from Macy’s cowgirl hat to the dried florals to the Montana mountain backdrop. And if that wasn’t dreamy enough?? THIS WEDDING MADE THE ACTUAL COVER OF Montana Bride Magazine. Like. THE COVER. I still have goosebumps.
But what made this day unforgettable wasn’t just the aesthetics (though don’t get me wrong, they slayed) it was the legacy behind it all. Macy’s grandpa had one wish before he passed: that she would marry Tanner in the western Montana wedding she’d always dreamed of. And y’all… she did. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, these two brought that vision to life with so much grace, sweetness, and quiet strength. It was moody, elegant, relaxed, and intimate, a day that felt like home!

Western-Inspired Details with a Boho Soul
Okay let’s talk DETAILS. Because these two knew what they were doing!! From the dried florals to the cowhide rugs, Macy and Tanner leaned into that elevated western boho vibe and it worked like magic. Macy wore the most stunning high-neck lace gown paired with white cowboy boots and, of course her ivory hat that tied everything together. Tanner looked like a literal western romance novel hero in his brown three-piece suit and matching hat (hello cowboy-core). The rings? Timeless. The florals? Moody and rich with texture. The table settings? Rustic elegance with rose-hued napkins and vintage glassware. Oh and the cake?? A floral-draped masterpiece sitting atop a lace-covered table surrounded by candlelight. It felt romantic, it felt intentional, and most of all, it felt them!

Getting Ready with the Sweetest Souls
Getting ready moments? PURE. FREAKING. GOLD. Macy got dressed with her mama’s help, and the emotion in that room was palpable. She spritzed her perfume, sipped something strong, and looked like a literal queen standing by the window in her lace gown. You could feel the calm confidence in her, like she knew this was exactly where she was meant to be. Meanwhile, Tanner got ready in a room full of antlers (Montana man things), suited up in earthy tones and pulled on his hat with a grin that could melt the glaciers. These two weren’t fussy, they weren’t rushing, they were present. And it set the tone for the whole dang day.

First Look by the Water at Paddle Ridge
Okay this moment?? Straight out of a movie. Their first look happened by the little pond at Paddle Ridge, tucked away and still, just the two of them surrounded by trees and reflection. The way Tanner turned around and saw Macy for the first time?? I was GONE. They held each other, took it all in, and had this quiet, sacred moment before all the chaos of the day began. It was the kind of peaceful intimacy that gives you chills. Just two people, their hats, and a whole lotta love.

Western Montana Wedding Portraits in Glacier National Park
After the first look, we snuck away to Glacier National Park (Lake McDonald specifically, if you know, you KNOW) and ummmm… the vibes were unmatched. Moody skies, mountains with snow-kissed peaks, wind tousling Macy’s veil, and that lake backdrop that makes you feel like you’re standing inside a painting. They danced along the shore, held hands on a wooden bridge, and laughed like no one else existed in the world. It was calm. It was romantic. And every photo looks like it belongs in a country music video. This was Montana magic, y’all!

A Cloudy Ceremony That Felt Like Heaven
Back at Paddle Ridge, the clouds rolled in and gave us the softest light ever, like nature dimmed the lights just for their vows. The ceremony was held on a deck overlooking the trees and distant mountains, layered in cozy rugs and warm-toned florals. Family sat close together, wrapped in blankets and love, while Macy & Tanner exchanged vows under the open sky. It wasn’t loud. Wasn’t showy. It was soft and sacred, full of meaningful glances and heartfelt words and a veil that danced in the wind like it had its own story to tell!

Celebrating With Cake, Candles, and Cozy Joy
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a cozy, candlelit reception under a wood-paneled pavilion. Tables were set with mismatched vintage glassware, moody blooms, and soft lighting that made everything glow like it was dipped in gold. They shared cake (and a little frosting on the nose), toasted with family, and soaked up every last second of the night together. It wasn’t about a big party. It was about the people. The legacy. The dream that Macy’s grandpa had, now fulfilled in the most beautiful, Montana way!

On the Cover of Montana Bride, Like, WHAT!?
And babes… let’s not forget the literal cherry on top. One of the portraits from this day, taken by the lake, hats on, mountains in the back, made the freaking cover of Montana Bride Magazine. YES MA’AM. It’s giving iconic. Giving timeless western love story. It’s giving “run, don’t walk” to book your wedding at Paddle Ridge. Macy & Tanner, y’all are legends. Thank you for letting me be part of something so meaningful. This day was proof that simplicity, intention, and heart will always outshine everything else. And I’ll be talking about this western Montana wedding for YEARS!!
